6 Bricks

The pupils of the Junior Room regularly use 6 bricks in a variety of ways. This week, we had great fun following directions to copy Teacher’s builds. Then, Junior Infants had the opportunity to engage in free play as it’s still a very new activity for them. Seniors and 1st used 6 bricks mats to revise blending of simple CVC words while 2nd class worked on their table facts by matching the correct brick to the choice of answer. We finished by working in pairs and then in 4s to make the tallest tower.

A busy day in the Junior Room!

One of the huge benefits of our multigrade setting is undoubtedly the range of opportunities for pupils to mix, play and learn together. Here you will see boys and girls from the Junior Room working in a range of ways together. The smiles tell their own stories!

Exploring the Active Walkway signs

The pupils of the Senior Room had a great time in the sun finding all the country fkags on our Active Walkway signs. The Philippines was a tricky one!

Army tanks visit Reenascreena!

We were delighted to welcome a past pupil of ours and parent of a child in the preschool, Cpl Jimmy Whyte, to school last week. He brought some of his colleagues from Collins’ Barracks and they travelled in style in 2 tanks and a bus. They gave the children plenty of time to explore the inside of the tanks and answered the array of questions they were asked. It was a fabulous experience, enjoyed by adults and children alike as you will see from the pictures below!
